REVIEW: After a revival success in Doctor, Sivakrthigeyan goes back to his comfort zone of full-fledged comedy through ‘Don’ . With a strong cast ensemble and subject matter that is very relevant to their primary target audience, youngsters, on paper the film is definite blockbuster material.  As the synopsis suggests, the film is all about a carefree youngster who is forced to study Engineering by his strict Dad and how he struggles to find his real talent. Though the film sounds like a ‘Santosh Su

Critic No. 280 Director: Arun Matheswaran Written by: Arun Matheswaran Produced by: Screen Scene Casts :  Selvaraghavan, Keerthy Suresh Music: Sam CS Language: Tamil Genre: Action, Crime, Drama SYNOPSIS:  A generational curse comes true in a senseless act of injustice to Ponni (Keerthy Suresh) and her family. Driven to seek vengeance by Sangaiya (Selvaraghavan), with whom she shares a bitter past. REVIEW: After a solid entry with ‘Rocky’ Arun Matheswaran continues his gritty and realistic cinema through his second with 2 remarkably talented individuals, Keethy Suresh and Selvaraghavan. Though acting is a new arena for the latter, no one would have any doubt about his performance given his excellent records of films where top actors were trained by him to be where they are now.  Inspired by a real-life tale, the film’s main narrative kicks off with Ponni (Keerthy) who is a police officer managing the station and her home which also includes her husband and daughter. However, he needs to make a decision to live with one of them - Kanmani or Khatija? REVIEW: Love triangle is not an unexplored territory in Tamil cinema, and has been done with stars like Rajinikanth ( Veera ) and Mohan ( Rettai Vaal Kuruvi ). In Kaathuvaakkula Rendu Kaadhal (KRK) , Vignesh Shivan deals with this tested subject in his own style, laced with humour and emotions. Vignesh Shivan is one director who loves to experiment, whether it works or not, he tries and that’s

Critic No. 278 Director: Prashanth Neel Written by: Prashanth Neel Produced by: Hombale Films Casts :  Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Prakash Raj, Malavika Avinash Music: Ravi Basrur Language: Kannada Genre: Action, Drama SYNOPSIS:  In the blood-soaked Kolar Gold Fields, Rocky's (Yash) name strikes fear into his foes. While his allies look up to him, the government sees him as a threat to law and order. Rocky must battle threats from all sides for unchallenged supremacy. REVIEW: In all honesty, when K.G.F Chapter 1  was released about 4 years ago, I was not really intrigued by the subject matter and felt that it is overrated. I revisited the film 1 week before I watched the sequel and felt that I understood the film and its dramatic yet novel world-building. I was then truly excited to see how this world evolves. With a much bigger budget and star casts, has Prasanth Neel managed to fulfill the mammoth expectation? The story kicks off with Vijayendra Ingal
